19 Months Old & Wilkesboro Visit

Here are some pics taken from our visit to Wilkesboro this past weekend. Camille sure took to her great grandmother- Gran :) She enjoyed her time with her grandparents too.

Unfortunately, Camille got a fever Sunday night and it lasted through Tuesday night! It never got over 101.5, but it was terrible. She lost her appetite-which you know means she is sick sick sick! She also was so pitiful and wanted to be held all the time. I stayed home with her Monday and then luckily Mimi was able to keep her Tuesday & Wednesday. She was back to her normal happy self for the most part yesterday and went back to school today. I know she has missed all her little friends.

Camille is a Bumblebee

Camille moved to a new class at school this week. She has gone from a Butterfly to a Bumblebee. This class is a huge transition for us both! First big change: since she was 10 wks old, she has been in the upstairs part of the school. This is where the offices and the baby rooms are. Well her new class is downstairs where all the "big kids" are! Second big change: her classroom layout. They have assigned spots on the carpet, a big kitchen, puzzles, building blocks, and other big kids activity items. Each day they have an art project that they do, so far this week Camille has made a sea turtle and a summer mobile. Every Monday is Water Play Day and she gets to wear her bathing suit and play in the water activity area. Every Friday is Sand Play Day. I teared up dropping her off on Monday b/c everything felt so new & like she was growing up. I felt like it was her first day of school! She obviously did too, b/c she cried both Monday & Tuesday when I dropped her off. Luckily, 3 of her friends from her Butterfly class have transitioned with her, plus our neighbor Corey who she knows well. I think the familiar faces have definitely helped. She finally has a boy in her class, but its 1:4. Ha! Poor Corey! She hasn't cried since Tuesday, but is still hesitant when I leave each morning. I know this is just a matter of time until she warms up to her new space. Her new teacher is Mrs. Brianna and she has Miss Nicole in the late afternoon-whom she knows & adores! She just keeps getting bigger- 19 months old on Friday! Wow!

Nags Head Beach Trip & Race for the Cure

The Cox family is returning to some normalcy after a full week in Nags Head! We had a wonderful time with the entire Cox clan- all 12 of us! We spent most mornings on the beach. Camille loved the wet sand most and even liked putting her toes in the freezing cold ocean. She did sneak a few bites of sand, but for the most part she was content walking up & down the beach and playing in the sand. We had a pool at the house which was nice, but Camille wasn't as excited about it. She did like the baby pool that cousin Lucas shared with her, but she wouldn't stay in there long.

Camille loved her daily dance parties with cousin Emily. Daddy, Priscilla, & Jacob would sometimes join in on the fun too! Camille wanted Emily at her side most of the time and would say "Emmy?" whenever she left the room. She did get jealous and possessive when baby Lucas was around, though she liked to take his food when he wasn't looking.

Camille also got a special visit from her friend Mary.

Though vacation isn't relaxing as it was before Camille, we still had a wonderful time. The nights were a bit challenging as we experienced some heavy smoke due to the Dare County wild fires, but the days were fine and it was nice to get to spend the week with MawMaw, PawPaw, Abe, Christy, Emily, Jacob, Lucas, Priscilla, and Travis. Camille enjoyed the extra attention :)

We returned Friday night so that we could make it to Race for the Cure on Saturday morning to support Aunt Christine! Camille had a blast. She was a bit mommy centric, but quickly found a love for icy pops!! I think she ate 3 in a row! She also got to meet Mrs. Wuf, though she didn't want to touch her. She did make a barking sound when she saw her, so perhaps she thought Mrs. Wuf was a dog? Oh and I don't know if I have mentioned Camille's love of dancing before, but she got lots of compliments on her dance moves at the race. Several strangers were entertained by Camille shaking her booty to the music- no prompting needed.
