Where did July go!?

Last week, was by far, the craziest, busiest week we've had in a long long time. July came and went without a blink!

We started out our last weekend in July with a fun family gathering at a local park. It was quite hot, but we all managed with the good food and good company. Here is a picture of our growing group.....

We loved having John, Allie, & Jack stay with us for the weekend of the gathering. Camille loves playing with "my baby jack." The heat gave a great opportunity to break out the baby pool so they could keep cool!

Before the work week started, we headed to Wilson to celebrate Lucas' 2nd birthday. Camille had a blast at the Sesame Street themed pool party and even suggested that I should have a Sesame Street party for my birthday :)

The work week kicked off with my trip to Nashville, TN. I switched flights to get a few hours at home with Camille and to meet my new niece, Haley, who Priscilla had the night before. Haley ended up being 8lbs 10oz! Here she is on her way home from the hospital.

I then had to turn around and head to New York City. I had a great trip, and even had time to meet up with my friend Sara. Sara surprised me with a cupcake treat after dinner. The cupcake was root beer float flavored!

My birthday was on Thursday, and I guess not many can say they spent their birthday in two different states... I woke up in NYC and flew home by lunch :) I only had a few hours before leaving again, but I promised Camille we could have a birthday date at a local cupcake shop. Camille loved her lemon cupcake. She told the waitress "I'm going to eat this cupcake all gone and then you're going to get me another." I had to intervene at that point! Here is Camille enjoying her lemon cupcake.

After Camille told me "You need to stay home. You have a baby," I felt horrible explaining I was leaving again, this time in the car instead of a plane. Nick & I had a previously planned trip to Wilmington for his work conference. Camille did seem quickly comforted by the fact that Mimi would be staying with her for the weekend.

While Nick & I were away, Camille had lots of fun with Mimi. They had lots of activities planned. She even got a cooking lesson from Aunt Claire. Here is Camille making chocolate chip bread pudding.

While in Wilmington, Nick & I stayed at a wonderful B&B, The Hoge-Wood House. Each day started with a delicious breakfast. My favorites were the pecan waffles and homemade biscuits with fig preserves! The hostesses were so nice and we really enjoyed our time there b/w meetings, though we were ready to come home early on Sunday to see our sweet girl.

We are slowly getting back to some normalcy this week. I did take Camille to get her 2nd ever big girl haircut yesterday. I have been trimming it myself at home, but thought she would be better off with a professional. Camille did great!! She was as still and as quiet as I've ever seen her! The hair stylist got a chuckle out of Camille's response when her haircut was over. She looked in the mirror and said "I look pretty. You do a good job and I a good girl." She is quite the character.

Here's hoping August isn't too crazy.....
